Gwakdo Island is an outlying island located furthest from Jindo, belonging to the Maenggolgundo area. Renowned for its high-quality seaweed, it is also known as Miyeokguk Island (Seaweed Island). Accessible through steep rocky shores and high waves, it attracts many fishermen seeking black sea bream in winter season due to its abundant seafood and pristine waters.
